Aloha January

Hawaii is the most isolated island chain in the world. The small islands sprouted up from the ocean floor from deeply submerged volcanoes. If you could see the topography of the ocean floor it would appear that the islands are actually just the tops of mountains that have grown out of the sea.  Being so isolated I figured that I wouldn’t be seeing them for myself anytime soon…it’s hard to hitchhike across the Pacific. But like so many times in my life luck shown down on me and I was invited on an all expense paid trip to the islands with my buddy, Garrett. He was headed out for business and had an extra ticket. It was the perfect remedy to cure some of those winter blues. The following pictures are from Kauai and Maui.
